Nademie "Mickey" Bistany, 99, of Sandy Hook, died at her home February 11. She was born October 1, 1916, in Yonkers, N.Y.www.stjude.org.

She was a devoted wife and mother. "Mickey" loved people, and enjoyed entertaining her friends and family. She has been referred to as "Very sweet." All who knew her will miss her quick, funny retorts.

Her daughters, Barbara Kasbarian, and her husband Frederick, and Carol Bistany; a granddaughter, Teresa Gibbons; and grandsons Ricky Kasbarian and William Kasbarian survive Mrs Bistany. Her husband, Herbert Bistany; her mother, Reddo Simrany; and her brother, Ned Simrany, predeceased her.

"A hole has been left in our universe. We pray she is happy in heaven surrounded by her mother, brother, husband, and the Lord."

A funeral mass will take place Saturday, March 19, at 10 am, at St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown. She will be laid to rest at St Rose of Lima Cemetery, Sandy Hook. Burial service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
