Carol Arlene Sandt Gee, 73, of Newtown died peacefully February 14 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, after a brief illness. She was born July 4, 1941, in Forks Township, Penn., and was the daughter of the late Sadie (Moser) and Paul Walter Sandt.

A resident of Newtown for the last 30 years, Ms Gee graduated from Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Penn., in 1963. She met her husband, Albert R. Gee, at nearby Lehigh University and they spent 50 wonderful years together.

In addition to her husband, a daughter, Martha, and her husband Andy Gardecki, and grandsons Christian, Jakob, and Alexander of Danbury; and son Matthew, and wife Stacey Gee, of Newtown; three brothers and their wives, Gary and Donna Lee Sandt of Forks Township, Penn., Eric and Carol Sandt of Fort Pierce, Fla., and George Sandt and Kathy Washburn of Saylorsburg, Penn.; and a sister, Georgine Washburn of Mesa, Ariz.; as well as numerous nieces and their families survive Ms Gee.

Ms Gee will best be remembered for her lifelong love of sewing, excelling as a sewer and teacher. During her time in Newtown she worked at Newtown High School and developed the first career center. In addition, she worked for The Taunton Press in Newtown, as a production assistant for Folkwear Patterns, and sales associate for Threads Magazine. She also worked with her husband at Ad-Ink, in Stamford.

She will be interred in Forks Cemetery in Stockertown, Penn., in a private ceremony. A memorial service celebrating her life will be scheduled for a later date, in Newtown.
