Raising Money For Pediatric AIDS

EVANSTON, ILL. — Laura Hammond of Newtown is helping to plan Northwestern University’s 27th annual Dance Marathon. As a member of the Public Relations Committee, Ms Hammond has worked through the fall and winter to prepare for the 30-hour event and will be in the middle of the action on Friday, March 2, to help make this incredible event a success.

With Ms Hammond’s help, this annual event is estimated to raise more than half a million dollars. This year’s beneficiary is the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF).

EGPAF is the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to funding and conducting scientific research for children with HIV/AIDS. The Foundation has raised more than $115 million to help children with HIV/AIDS. Northwestern’s Dance Marathon has chosen EGPAF as its primary beneficiary to contribute to the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Northwestern’s Dance Marathon is the largest student-run philanthropy of its kind.

If you would like to support DM 2001, please send a check payable to Northwestern University on Ms Hammond’s behalf to Dance Marathon at 1999 South Campus Drive, Evanston, Ill., 60208. All the money goes toward EGPAF.
