âLetâs Talkâ Workshops
NORWALK â CACLD will be holding a discussion group for the parents of children with learning disabilities and attention deficits as part of its 2001 Family Education series.
âLetâs Talkâ will consist of four sessions led by school psychologist Rena Schine and CACLD (the Connecticut Association for Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities) advocate Val Lux. Each session is limited to ten participants and will cover, but is not limited to, such areas as parent-child communication, sibling issues, developing realistic expectations, learning about community resources, and understanding the educational jargon.
The sessions will meet on four consecutive Tuesdays throughout the month of March, starting on March 6, from 10 to 11:45 am; or on Wednesdays throughout March starting March 7, from 7:30 to 9:15 pm. All the sessions will be in the CACLD Conference Room at 25 Van Zant Street in Norwalk. There is a fee of $10 per session for non-members and $8 per session from members of CACLD. Registration is required. Please call Marie Armstrong at CACLD, 203/838-5010, to register or for further information. The 2001 Family Education series is partially funded by grants from The Darien Community Association and an anonymous donor.
