WESTPORT – Plans are already being made for the Fairfield County June Benefit Horse Show June 20-24 on the beautiful grounds of the Fairfield County Hunt Club in Westport. The show will benefit the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)

The show will feature a $25,000 Grand Prix on Saturday, June 24, and will involve some of the top professional riders in the country – such as Leslie Burr Howard, winner of the 1998 $750,000 DuMaurier Grand Prix, a 1984 Olympic Team Show Jumping gold medalist, a 1986 World Cup champion, and a 1996 Olympic Team Show Jumping silver medalist.

The Fairfield County June Benefit Horse Show is managed by William Glass. Course designers for the show will be J. Blake Adler and William Glass. The judges will include Linda Andrisani, Jeffrey Ayers, Robert Bielefeld, Gerald Briggs, Dr Robert C Rost, and Jeff Wirthman.

The ASPCA is the oldest humane organization in the United States, as well as one of the largest animal welfare organizations in the world. The ASPCA is dedicated to helping animals on many fronts – from rescues and adoptions to humane law enforcement and hospital services. The ASPCA will hold a benefit luncheon in conjunction with the Grand Prix.

Under the leadership of Emerson Burr, recipient of the 1998 AHSA Jimmy Williams Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Fairfield County June Benefit Horse Show has been one of the most popular shows among hunter exhibitors, with a country atmosphere, and steeped in tradition – featuring the traditional Hunter Course, with double-panelled fences and beautiful engraved trophies dating back to the Club’s first shows in the late 1920s.

These traditions will continue along with an exciting venue for jumper exhibitors – a jumper arena on the fame 10-acre Polo Field, the $25,000 Grand Prix, and a $10,000 Amateur-Owner/Junior Jumper Classic.

Call the Fairfield County Hunt Club Horse Show office at 1-203-255-5380 for further information.
