Many entities will be affected by Presidents’ Day, a federal holiday, on Monday, February 19.

All Newtown town offices will be closed. The transfer station on Ethan Allen Road, usually only available for contractors on Mondays, will be closed.

Newtown schools are scheduled to be closed Friday, February 16, through Tuesday, February 20. Classes will resume Wednesday, February 21.

The US Postal Service will be closed on Presidents’ Day. There is no mail delivery.

Presidents’ Day is also a Federal Reserve Bank holiday, so banks will be closed.

The office of The Newtown Bee, at 5 Church Hill Road, will be open.
