CT Green Bank To Host A Home Battery Webinar Next Week
The Newtown Sustainable Energy Commission is currently engaged in a special “Energy Storage Solutions” program to educate homeowners about the benefits of having a battery back-up system to power their homes with clean energy. The campaign is supported by the nationally known nonprofit organization SmartPower, and is locally known as PowerSmart Newtown.
Details about the program will be the subject of a webinar conducted by Connecticut Green Bank from 6:30 to 7:30 pm Thursday, February 22. Registering for the virtual presentation can be done by visiting PowerSmartNewtown.wee.green and right-clicking on the image under Upcoming Events toward the bottom of the Welcome page.
Thursday's presentation will focus on recent changes to the Energy Storage Solutions program, including higher upfront financial incentives and a broader array of eligible equipment. Connecticut’s residents are finding that acquiring a battery system paired with existing or new solar panels may be more affordable than anywhere else in the country.
The Sustainable Energy Commission is encouraging residents to register for this webinar. The group reports that battery storage systems can provide clean, quiet energy security for homes.
“The more we know about energy storage, the more sense it makes for greater grid resilience and pollution reduction,” said the commission.
