Valentines For Veterans
To the Editor:
The Newtown Womanâs Club, GFWC, would like to thank everyone who participated in the Valentines for Veterans Program, by depositing valentines in the collection boxes at the C.H. Booth Library. Over 900 cards were collected.
The following is a list of those who marked their cards with their organizationâs name; Home room 108 at Chalk Hill Middle School, Monroe; Ms Fletcherâs Math Classes at Stamford High School; Mrs Claws first grade class and Community Kids at Middlebrook School, Trumbull; Newtown High School students; Monroe Library; Monroe Womenâs Club; Diane Mellenâs Arts and Craft class at the Ella Jackson Senior Center, Bridgeport; Troop 599; Troup 4301; grade 3G; Margaret Zelinskiâs National Arts Honors and Arts Students at Stamford High School; Marie Walkerâs Valentine Workshop at the C.H. Booth Library; and the Newtown Womanâs Club Workshop.
The cards were delivered to the Veterans Home and Hospital, Rocky Hill; West Haven Veterans Hospital; and The Homesteads. Cards were also mailed to our service men and women in Iraq and to Walter Reed Army Hospital, Washington, D.C. Again thank you to all the wonderful people who remembered our veterans and members of our armed services.
