Musical Arrows To The Heart

DANBURY —The Danbury Music Centre is presenting a recital sure to please people of many different musical preferences. Any recital that features Larry Deming playing not only violin and viola, but also bullhorn, is sure to be interesting.

The recital will take place on Saturday, February 16, at 8 pm, in the Marian Anderson Recital Hall of Danbury Music Centre, 256 Main Street.

Joined by members of the Larry Deming String Quartet — violist Barbara Wiggin and cellist Mary Costanza — there will also be a special guest appearance of Carlos Boltes on viola and charango.

The concert will include many styles of music and have widespread musical appeal. Selections include “Love is a Many Splendid Thing,” “Isn’t it Romantic,” “My Foolish Heart,” excerpt from The Butterfly Lovers Concerto by Chen Gang and He Zhanhao, Hoagy Carmichael’s Stardust, and many more timeless songs beloved by lovers everywhere. Amanda Deming, 10-year old daughter of Larry Deming, will join the quartet singing Joni Mitchell’s famous hit, “Both Sides Now,” as arranged by her father.
