CT Death Collective Community Potluck, Sunday
The next Connecticut Death Collective (CDC) Community Potluck is planned for Sunday, February 16, 6 to 9 pm, at Sticks and Stones Farm, 197 Huntingtown Road.
Founded in 2022, The Connecticut Death Collective aims to foster community for those working in death care, as well as connect people with local end of life resources and information. The group also regularly holds space for individuals from all walks of life to discuss mortality in order to help normalize conversations surrounding death and dying.
Celine Currier, Jackie Genovese, and Becca Ainley founded the collective to build community, encourage open conversation about death and dying, and increase awareness about death care, home funerals, and green burial options in Connecticut.
The CDC’s mission is to cultivate an open and supportive community where people can gather and speak freely about one of the most universal experiences in life — death. Through a variety of monthly in-person and virtual events, the group aims to provide death workers, the death curious, and anyone in between a compassionate space to connect, share, listen, and learn through insightful discussions on mortality.
All are invited to join host Sara Tinnesz for Sunday’s event. Those planning to attend are asked to bring with them a vegetarian dish to share and an open mind. Donations will be accepted to help the nonprofit Love Has A Home Here at Sticks and Stones Farm, which provides the space.
Registration is requested and available through sticksandstonesfarm.com/events. Additional information is also available at ctdeathcollective.weebly.com.
