The Newtown Public School Recovery Project is sponsoring two upcoming parent forums, one at Newtown Middle School and the other at Hawley Elementary School.

The first forum, called “Building Resiliency in Yourself and Your Children,” is scheduled for Thursday, February 20. One-hour sessions will be offered at 9 am and 7 pm. Both sessions will be held in the middle school’s Conference Room B-6.

This forum will be facilitated by Carol Greeley of Wellmore Behavioral Health. It will teach attendees how to better prepare themselves and their families to navigate life’s stressors and challenges by building inner-strength and resiliency.

The Hawley School forum, called “Parenting Using Positive Discipline Techniques,” is also scheduled for Thursday, February 20. It too will be offered in one-hour sessions. The first will begin at 10 am, and will be in the school’s reading room; the second will begin at 6 pm, in the school’s library.

This forum will be facilitated by Rosa Baldino, MSW, of Wellmore Behavioral Health, and Leanne Fuccillo, a Hawley School counselor. Parents will learn positive discipline techniques that give parents the tools needed to help with daily challenges.

Registration is not required for any of the forums.
