Moving Violations
Police report they stopped motorist Paul Marquardt, 22, of Southbury for a moving violation on The Boulevard about 7:30 am February 14.
Police charged Marquardt with traveling too fast, operating a motor vehicle while under suspension, and misuse of marker plates.
Police released Marquardt on a written promise to appear March 6 in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
SUV Vs Deer
Police report motorist Jeffrey R. Ferrier, 25, of Earlton, N.Y., was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer eastbound on Berkshire Road near 267 Berkshire Road about 10:15 pm February 9, when a deer entered the road.
The Blazer collided with the deer, damaging the vehicle, police said. Ferrier was uninjured. The deer was not found, police said.
Two-Vehicle Crash
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 34 and Toddy Hill Road in Sandy Hook on February 13.
While he was stopped at a red traffic signal, motorist Richard J. Engelke, 44, of 9 Grayâs Plain Road, Sandy Hook, who was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer, was struck from behind by Nadeem Sayyed, 19, of Yonkers, N.Y., who was driving a 1999 Ford, police said. There were no injuries.
Police issued Sayyed an infraction ticket on a charge of failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Two Charges
Police said they charged motorist Carrie N. Medici, 23, of Waterbury on February 13 with speeding and operating a motor vehicle while under suspension. Medici is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court March 1 to answer the charges.
Motor Vehicle Stop
Police report they charged Travis T. Fardy, 24, of Stratford on February 13 with speeding and operating a motor vehicle while under suspension. Police released Fardy on a $250 bond for a February 23 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
