Occupation: I am a personal financial advisor with American Express Financial Advisors in its Waterbury office. I worked for IBM for 27 years and was a CPA with Price Waterhouse for five years. I have a bachelor’s degree from Columbia and a master of science in business from Columbia Graduate School of Business.

How Long in Newtown: I have lived in Newtown for 13 years. Prior to that I lived in Westchester County, N.Y., where I grew up.

Biggest Change Seen in Town: The volume of new homes and additional people.

Family: My wife, Beverly, and I have been married for 46 years. We have two children, a son, Bob, and a daughter, Diane. Bob and his wife, Bette, have a daughter, Patie, 8. Diane and her husband, Carl Huber, have two sons, Brian, 14, and Justin, 10.

Hobbies: Spending time with my grandchildren, swimming, and biking.

Favorite Books and Authors: I read a lot for my job so I don’t do a lot of other reading.

Favorite TV Show: I like sports in general, but particularly the UConn women’s basketball team. They have a team that is just great. They play together as a team and individually don’t seem to care about being a star.

Organizations: I am active in Trinity Episcopal Church and have been a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals for about eight years. I am currently its secretary.

Most Vivid Memory of Newtown: My most vivid memory is of how welcoming the community was when we arrived here. The people were gracious and interested, and offered their help. I was absolutely astonished, and very favorably impressed. It was a great decision to move here. It’s a nice place to live.

Favorite Vacation Spot: Long Beach Island in New Jersey, a town named Harvey Cedars. It’s a great place. I went there with my mother and father. We took our children there and our grandchildren. We’ve spent many happy vacations there.

Personal Philosophy: Honesty, integrity, and personal responsibility in all things. I was taught that by my father through his deeds and actions. I don’t always make it, but I try hard.
