Lions Club Says Thanks

To the Editor,

On Saturday, February 12, the Newtown Lions Club held a pancake breakfast to benefit the Sandy Hook Fire Department and the Newtown Library. As event chairman, I would like to thank the many Lions who sacrificed a large portion of their Saturday to assist at the breakfast. A special thanks to committee members Tony Ratzing, Dick Coburn, Val Grudzinska, and Charley Godfrey.

Stop and Shop managers Rich Haupt and Ron Monforte deserve special thanks for supplying a large portion of the food.

Lois Barber and John Will did a great deal of work making the Sandy Hook Fire Department hall available to us. The River Cone Ice Cream Shop in Sandy Hook also provided a gift certificate which was used in a raffle.

Finally, thanks to everyone who attended, and supported these worthy causes.
