Botsford resident and Newtown High School graduate Jill M. Swiatowicz was named to the dean’s list for the fall 1999 semester at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.

Newtown residents Justin M. Bowen and Georgette M. Gordon were named to the dean’s list for the fall 1999 semester at New Hampshire College in Manchester. Justin is a marketing major, and Georgette is concentrating on accounting.

Newtown resident Amy Grabowski was one of the few students named to the University of Maryland’s dean’s list by acquiring a grade point average higher than 3.5. She is a 1997 graduate of Newtown High School.

Robert Murdy, son of Rich and Kathy Murdy, has made the dean’s list for the fall semester at the University of Connecticut. Robert graduated from Newtown High School in 1999 and is in his freshman year at UConn. Robert was in the UConn marching band in the fall.

The University of Delaware has announced its dean’s list for the fall 1999 semester, and Sandy Hook residents Lauren Ray Pelletreau and Kelly A. Sheehan were named to it. Lauren is a junior at the university, studying English, and Kelly is a senior concentrating on sociology.

Newtown residents Lindsey M. Brown and Evin A. Liljengren, a junior and freshman, respectively, were named to the University of Vermont’s dean’s list for the fall 1999 semester. Lindsey in an environmental studies major in the School of Natural Resources, and Evin is a secondary education social science major in the College of Education and Social Sciences.
