John William Vollmer, Jr, age 84, of Newtown, died Wednesday, February 12, in Danbury Hospital. John was born in Norwalk Hospital, the son of the late Dr John William Vollmer and Mildred Rowe Vollmer.

He was predeceased by his wife, Melissa Haines Vollmer.

John served in the United States Navy. He was a Senior Electrical Engineer at Perkin Elmer.

John is survived by his son, John William Vollmer and his wife, Heidi, of Goshen, Conn; his son, William Haines Vollmer, and his wife, Charlene, of Monroe; and grandsons, Jake and Michael. Also, a loving niece, nephews, family, and friends survive him.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on Friday, February 14, from 4 to 7 pm.
