William Hanna
William Frederick Hanna, 70, of Fishkill, N.Y. and previously a resident of Sandy Hook for 45 years, died February 12. He was born in Bridgeport, February 17, 1943, to John and Frances (Menedick) Hanna.
He attended Bunnell High School in Stratford, and graduated in 1961. He worked for Blase Manufacturing as a tool and die maker, retiring in 2012 after 44 years of dedicated service. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed family adventures, home construction and woodworking. He was a member of Newtown Congregational Church.
His wife of 48 years, Donna (Damon) Hanna; two children, Darlene (Hanna) Klosen and her husband, Christopher, of Fishkill and William Hanna of Bridgeport; two grandchildren, Kayla and Scott Klosen; a sister, Dorothy (Hanna) Layton and her husband, Marshall; a sister-in-law, June (Meyers) Hanna; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary (McDonald) Damon; and many nieces and nephews survive Mr Hanna. He was predeceased by a brother, Jack Hanna.
Calling hours will take place Friday February 14, from 5 to 7:30 pm, at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Burial will be at Newtown Village Cemetery in the spring.
Mr Hanna enjoyed recovering from a previous surgery with the compassion and expertise shown by the Pulmonary Rehab's staff.
