Two Observations

To the Editor,

How inspiring to learn about Gordon Crean and his effort on the behalf of cats. (“Giving Cats Shelter, The Newtown Bee, 2/6/09.) A young man with a kind heart is a fine citizen, and an example of generosity. All around us there are needs, human and animal. Look around and continue to help, for we are Newtowners

And on another matter, Stu Laub’s letter of January 31 (“Why Protect Charter?” Letter Hive 2/6/09) is right to the point. Charter has become an entity of swaggering indifference in our community, since they have no competition. I am asking those who could, bring another cable company into our town. Lack of competition breeds unilateralism.
