Preventive Care For Equines Scheduled For March 20 At Post University

WATERBURY – Dr Claudia Sandoval from Fairfield Equine Associates will give a presentation on deworming and immunizing horses on Friday, March 20 at Post University. There are many factors to consider when formulating a good preventive care plan and current thinking on the topic is updated frequently. She will address the issue of deworming and parasite resistance which is becoming an increasingly widespread problem.

Fairfield Equine Associates is a top-notch referral center in Newtown. The center has received national and international recognition for excellence in the care and treatment of the sport horse and has served the United States Equestrian Team at multiple Olympic Games and other international events during the past four decades.

This lecture follows an engaging presentation by Bill Davis of Blue Seal Feeds on February 6. He presented information on the ingredients of a high-quality feed product, how to recognize a quality feed by reading the label, and factors to consider in making good feeding choices for horses of all types.

The Quiz the Experts series is prepared by the Post University Equine Resource Committee to provide topical and up to date information on subjects related to the ownership, care and training of horses and other equines.

Proceeds from the Quiz the Experts Lecture series benefit equine scholarships and the Equine Program at Post. These lectures are now being held in the Traurig Library Board Room on Post University’s Waterbury campus. Tickets are available for the price of $10 at the door, and admission is free to Post students. For more information, call 203-596-4631 or 203-596-4645, or email CBaker@post.edu or ABloxsom@post.edu.
