Gwen Brown
 Gwen (Scott) Brown, 69, of Sandy Hook, formerly of Stratford, a retired teacher and supervisor for the Connecticut State Department of Mental Retardation, died February 10 in the Carolton Convalescent Hospital, Fairfield.
Born in Bridgeport, Mrs Brown had been a lifelong Stratford resident prior to moving to Sandy Hook in 1987. She was a former nursery school teacher at the Sterling House in Stratford and was an avid singer and member of the choir at the Stratford United Methodist Church and the âHarmonettes.â Her dedication and devotion to her many clients and students touched the lives of so many. She was the wife of the late Seth H. Brown.
Survivors include her three children, Linda Wheeler of Jacksonville, Fla., Diane C. Mastroianni and her husband, Angelo, of Fairfield, and Mark F. Brown of Elko, Nev.; a daughter-in-law, Amy Brown of Monroe; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Hazel Kelly of Fairfield.
A graveside service was held on February 14 in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
