A Sell-Out Show

To the Editor:

On Saturday, February 3, 2001, Gearoid O’hAllmhurain and Patrick Ourceau played to a sell-out crowd at the Newtown Meeting House. We of the Shamrock Traditional Irish Music Society wish to thank the community of Newtown and surrounding areas for their support.

Our particular thanks to Shannon Hicks and other people of The Newtown Bee for their generous coverage, the Booth Library and many local businesses who allowed us to put up posters and leave flyers, My Place Restaurant for serving a lovely dinner to Patrick Ourceau and three of our members at record speed, and the kind folks at Bagelman for conversation and their generous gift of bagels. Thanks also to the gentlemen who helped us push a member’s car free of the snow-covered Meeting House parking lot after the concert.

Warmest Regards,

Don Moran -

on behalf of the entire Shamrock

 Traditional Irish Music Society
