E. James Benvenuti, 83, of Nunnawauk Meadows in Newtown died February 6, at Hewitt Health & Rehab in Shelton. Born in Worcester, Mass., he was the son of Lea (Arsenault) and Emo Benvenuti.

His sister, Marie, and her husband, David Orrell, of Eastport, Maine; his daughter, Lea Benvenuti of Stratford; his son, John Benvenuti of Monroe; and his six grandchildren, Christopher Canfield, Sean Canfield, Ethan Canfield, Emma Canfield, Alexandra Benvenuti, and James Benvenuti, survive him. He is also survived by two nephews, a niece, as well as many cousins.

Mr Benvenuti graduated from North Brookfield High School.

He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 to 1955. He was in the Maine Corps Reserves until 1960.

Mr Benvenuti made many friends while living in Newtown. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

Services will be at a later date.
