Spring Workshops Announced By Nutmeg Artists
BETHLEHEM â The Nutmeg Artists will kick off their spring lineup of workshops on Saturday, February 24, with a repeat performance of Anda Stylerâs âImaginationâ workshop. The program was presented in November to a full house and is being repeated by popular demand.
The workshop will take place at 550 Gallery, BCM Building, 550 Main Street South in Bethlehem. Hours are 10 am to 5 pm and cost is $30 per person.
The workshop will be devoted to breaking into what Ms Styler calls the âincredible treasure house of your imagination.â The artist begins the day with a demonstration and, working from her finished painting, will create a new composition using ideas from her imagination and life experiences.
Students will then draw on their own experiences and imagination to create a painting that tells a story unique to each participant.
Anda Jasmine Styler draws on many years of art experience. She graduated from Parsons School of Design with a BA in fine art. She exhibits in galleries throughout the East and has received numerous awards for her work. The Connecticut artist teaches acrylic painting in addition to leading workshops and demonstrations for art organizations.
The series will continue on March 24 with Hank McLaughlin leading an oil painting workshop. He will offer an impressionistic approach to interpreting nature using a broken color technique. The workshop runs from 10 am to 4 pm and is $55 per person.
On April 21, Barbara Goodspeed will present a watercolor workshop. The focus will be on design principles, color, composition and values. The workshop is from 10 am to 3 pm and cost is $30.
Advance reservations for all workshops are required and can be made by calling Carol Marti at 860/274-4948.
