Occupation: I worked for 20 years for a large electronics business, and right now I test medical equipment for a large multinational company. I’m also the audio visual technician for the Newtown town meetings.

Family: I have six brothers and sisters, mostly in other parts of our union.

Pets: No pets, just birds at the bird feeders outside the window. They come and go as they please.

How long have you been in town? I live in Brookfield, and I have been recording the town meetings since October. We have just started posting the videos on the town website, newtown-ct.gov, and soon we’ll be putting the meetings live on the website.

What do you like to do in your free time? I’m into photography and videography. I do videos for the John J. McCarthy Observatory and those DVDs are in the New Milford Library and on YouTube. I’m a volunteer at the observatory, and have been interested in astronomy for a long time.

Do you have a favorite book? Most of the reading I do is nonfiction science, technology, aviation, and history. I do like to read some science fiction. Joe Haldeman is one of my favorite current authors.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? I don’t really travel much. But I would like to visit aviation museums around the country sometime. The two major ones are at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., which I visited a long time ago, and the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio, the birthplace of aviation in US history.

What is the best thing about Newtown? Recording the town meetings is educational. Now I have a much greater appreciation for how hard it is to run town government. It’s so complex.

If you could spend a day with anyone, who would you choose? I don’t really have heroes, but it would be interesting to spend a day with the late Richard Feynman, who was a famous physicist. He was an excellent teacher at Cal Tech, and they recorded his lectures. It is an enjoyable experience to listen to someone who not only knows what he is talking about, but knows how to explain things.

Do you have a personal philosophy? The most negative things are the things to watch out for, and the rest is okay.

What makes you happiest? Dealing with people who are intelligent and humble, and whose humility and talents are well in tune. Good communication is really satisfying.
