USPS Passport Day At The Library

The US Postal Service is presenting a US Passport Day at Cyrenius Booth Library, 25 Main Street, on Saturday, February 12. The public is invited to both renew and apply for new passports. The hours are 10 am to 3 pm.

Applications will be available in advance at both the library and the post office.

Also available will be a limited supply of Ronald Reagan stamps, Marion Anderson stamps, envelopes and post cards that can be cancelled with the special cancellation commemorating the Newtown Tercentennial.

This cancellation depicts the flagpole, a church steeple, and another building along with the years 1705–2005.

The Newtown Post Office is issuing its first newsletter explaining this event as well as other events and news from the post office. This newsletter will be available at the post office and the library.

Anyone with questions about the passport applications or the special cancellation can call the post office at 426-4271.
