BROOKFIELD â A new exhibition entitled âTranslucence: Forms in Paperâ has opened in the Lynn Tendler Bignell Gallery at Brookfield Craft Center. The exhibition will remain on view through Saturday, March 26.
Guest curator Jeanine Esposito, a sculptor who works in paper, has assembled a group of innovative artists who employ paper fiber in their work in creative and unique ways. The show features work that pushes the boundaries of paper, providing a fresh perspective on a very familiar and commonplace material.
The participating artists are Talya Baharal, Jessica Beels, Shannon Brock, Joycelyn Chateauvert, Amanda Degener, Janine Esposito, Daniel Essig, Jeanne Jaffe, Sheryl Jaffe, Anne Matie Kennedy, Donna Koretsky, Mary Leto, Winifred Lutz, Virginia Maksymowicz, Catherine Nash, Jill Parisi, Donna Ruff, Michelle Samour, Virginia Tyler, Jenna Weston and Marcia Widenor.
The exhibition has been made possible by the Lynn Tendler Bignell Foundation with support from the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism.
Admission is free.
Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, noon to 5 pm.
