Many entities will be affected by Presidents’ Day, a federal holiday, on Monday, February 20.

All Newtown municipal offices will be closed.

The transfer station on Ethan Allen Road, usually only available for contractors on Mondays, will be closed.

C.H. Booth Library will be closed, as will Newtown Senior Center.

Newtown Community Center will be open.

Newtown schools are scheduled to have early dismissal on Friday, February 17, and then remain closed to Tuesday, February 21. Classes will resume Wednesday, February 22.

The US Postal Service will be closed on Presidents’ Day. There is no mail delivery.

Presidents’ Day is also a Federal Reserve Bank holiday, so banks will be closed.

The office of The Newtown Bee, at 5 Church Hill Road, will be open.
