Community Forum On The Individual Education Program
The Newtown Public Schools district has announced that the next in a series of interactive community forums will be held on Thursday, February 23, in the Newtown High School Lecture Hall, 12 Berkshire Road, at 7 pm.
The community forum was originally scheduled for February 22.
The forum will include training provided by the Connecticut Parent Advocacy Center on how parents can be actively and effectively involved in the development of the Individual Education Program (IEP). Participants will learn the key components of the IEP and will become familiar with current Connecticut IEP forms. Guidance will also be offered regarding the development of measurable goals and tips for monitoring a student's progress.
