Nighthawks Grapple With Opponents As Regular Campaign Gives Way To Postseason

Newtown High School’s wrestling team lost to host Pomperaug of Southbury 46-35 on February 1, and battled in the John Chaco Classic – taking on Norwich Free Academy (NFA), Norwalk, and Greenwich – at Staples High School in Westport three days later.

The Nighthawks were scheduled to cap off the regular season on Wednesday (after The Bee sports section went to press). The South-West Conference championships will be held this Saturday, February 11 in New Milford.
