New Mobile Health Van To Be In Stony Hill This Month

BETHEL — The Greater Danbury Community Health Center Mobile Health Van provides access to primary medical, dental, and behavioral health care to residents from the surrounding communities. The van was introduced on January 4 during a ceremony outside Bethel Teen Center.

Congressman Chris Murphy, Bethel First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker, Dr Tom Draper, and James H. Maloney, president and chief executive officer of the Connecticut Institute For Communities Inc, joined together to announce the CIFC Mobile Health Van would now be available in Bethel.

The Bethel Visiting Nurse Association, located at 70 Stony Hill Road (Route 6), will host the van in its parking lot on Wednesdays, February 22 and 29. The van will receive visitors each of these days from 9:30 am until noon.

On Wednesday, February 15, the van will be at Bethel Senior Center, 1 School Street, during the same timeframe.

There is a sliding fee schedule based on family income. Patients must sign up before the start of each session, and are then seen on a first come, first served basis. Registration is done between 9 and 10 am, and closes once available time slots are filled.

Minors under the age of 18 must be with a parent; if visiting with a guardian, you must bring legal proof of guardianship.

The services are offered in cooperation with the Western Connecticut Health Network (Danbury and New Milford Hospitals), and funded in part by the United Way Of Western Connecticut and the USDHHS/Health Resources and Services Administration.

For more information, contact Mary Pina at CIFC Community Health Center of Greater Danbury, 203-743-0100, extension 342, or PinaM@CT-Institute.org.
