Middle School Grapplers Edge New Fairfield

Participants in the Newtown Youth Wrestling Association (NYWA) middle school program recently won again as they traveled to New Fairfield High School and took on a tough squad of fifth through eighth graders. NYWA participated in 19 matches and came away victorious in ten of the contests.

The team was led by multiple match winner Christopher Lajoie (2-0 with a pin). Joining Lajoie with victories were a trio of Newtown Middle School seventh graders Anthony Falbo, Dylan Bartlett, and Edward Lovely, while Alexander Stavola, Andrei Steinjann, Michael Schleinger, and Andy Hubina all added wins in the tightly-fought matchup.
