Award-Winning Trio Solisti, Sunday At Edmond Town Hall

Trio Solisti — violinist Maria Bachmann, pianist Jon Klibonoff and cellist Alexis Pia Gerlach — has earned a reputation for soulful and passionate performances marked by soloistic virtuosity, electric energy, seamless ensemble playing, and thrilling abandon. Newtown Friends of Music is pleased announce Trio Solisti will again perform in the theater of Edmond Town Hall on Sunday, February 12, at 3 pm.

The pre-St Valentine’s Day program will include works of W.A. Mozart (Trio in B-flat Major, K 502), Paul Moravec (Passacaglia), a Czardas by Jeno Hubay, arranged by Bachman, and Hungarian Dances Nos 1 and 5 by Johannes Brahms. Following intermission, the program will end with Antonin Dvorak’s Trio in F minor, Op 65.

Single tickets are available at the box office, priced at $20 (cash or check only). The box office will open at 2 pm on the day of the concert. As always, students K through 12 are admitted free of charge when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.

Tickets may also be purchased in advance by sending check and self-addressed envelope to Newtown Friends of Music, PO Box 295, Newtown  CT 06470-0295.

Parking is free behind Edmond Town Hall and the facility is handicap accessible. An informal reception following the concert will offer concert goers the opportunity to meet and mingle with the musicians.

Mini-subscriptions for all three Spring 2012 concerts (this one, along with the pianist Ann Schein on March 11, and Escher String Quartet with guest guitarist Jason Vieaux on April 1) are available at the reduced rate of $45.
