Adopt A Dog From The Pound

The following dogs are among those available for adoption from the Newtown pound, which is located at the end of Ethan Allen Road (behind the transfer station).

BROOKE is a female German Shepherd around 4 or 5 years old. This stylish lady sports a beautiful sable coat that you just can’t keep your hands off. She welcomes that as well as a good chest scratch during which time she will thump her hind leg. She loves to play fetch and is quite willing to please despite her having been abandoned. Brooke doesn’t do well with other dogs or cats but her sweet disposition will more than offset that. Being a big lady, around 70 pounds, she would have to be supervised around small children. She is a charmer with that floppy right ear.

LUCKY is a male Akita mix around 5 years old. Mostly black with a nice white chest and paws, this very handsome boy weighs in at about 85 pounds. He has a strikingly intelligent face with penetrating medium amber eyes. He loves to be pet, and is good with adults and some dogs. He will need some followup leash training but looks to be a valuable addition to any household willing to spend some time with him.

CHARICE is a female pit bull mix, mostly black with a small white spot on her chest. She weighs 40- 45 pounds and is a young 2-3 year old. She’s very playful and full of energy but may not be very good with other dogs or cats. Her young age makes her suitable for training and she has the potential to be a magnificent pet and companion.
