Swedish Choir

At Yale

NEW HAVEN — Academy Chamber Choir of Uppsala, Sweden, conducted by Stefan Parkman, will perform on Sunday, February 19, at 4 pm, at Christ Church Episcopal, 84 Broadway at Elm.

Founded nearly 50 years ago, today’s choir is a mix of 45 singers and has an extensive repertoire that encompasses early music from the Renaissance as well as new music written for the choir.

The group will perform Rachmaninoff’s seldom-heard Vsenoshchnoye bdeniye All-Night Vigil. Written in 1915,  the work is widely regarded as the composer’s finest unaccompanied choral work.

The free concert will be presented by Yale Institute of Sacred Music. For more information, call 203-432-5062.
