NEW HAVEN â Academy Chamber Choir of Uppsala, Sweden, conducted by Stefan Parkman, will perform on Sunday, February 19, at 4 pm, at Christ Church Episcopal, 84 Broadway at Elm.
Founded nearly 50 years ago, todayâs choir is a mix of 45 singers and has an extensive repertoire that encompasses early music from the Renaissance as well as new music written for the choir.
The group will perform Rachmaninoffâs seldom-heard Vsenoshchnoye bdeniye All-Night Vigil. Written in 1915, the work is widely regarded as the composerâs finest unaccompanied choral work.
