‘Country Life’ At Hunt Hill Farm

NEW MILFORD — The second of two exhibitions focused on rural life will open at Hunt Hill Farm’s Silo Gallery on Saturday, February 11. “Country Life: The Woods,” part of an ongoing cultural partnership between Hunt Hill Farm and Western Connecticut State University, will be on view through March 19. An opening reception will take place Saturday, February 11, from 3 to 5 pm.

The exhibition is curated by Margaret Grimes, coordinator of the MFA program at Western Connecticut State University, and will include work by well-known visiting artists, advisory board members and resident faculty associated with the program, as well as alumni and students.

Artists include Robert Alberetti, Helen Anne, Robert Berlind, Phyllis Boger, Nancy Casey, Nancy White Cassidy, Michael Chelminski, Leann Connelly, Abe Echevarria, Constance Evans, Bridget Grady, Margaret Grimes, Ginger Hanrahan, Doris Kaye, Rolandas Kiaulevicius, Carmen Leahy, Michael Liebhaber, Susan Lozoraitis, Betty Ann Medeiros, Eileen Mooney, Hugh O’Donnell, Marjorie Portnow, Carolyn Wallace, John Wallace and Tony Zatzick.

Mr Berlind, making his first appearance at the Silo Gallery, has been actively exhibiting abstraction-based, painterly realism for more than 30 years, with individual and group shows that can be viewed at numerous galleries and museums throughout the United States.

Also new to the gallery, Mr O’Donnell’s work is included in many private and public collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and Rose Art Museum.
