‘A Surprising Gift’ At Wisdom House

LITCHFIELD — Well-known author and syndicated columnist Antoinette Bosco will lead a program titled “Lent: A Surprising Gift” on Saturday, March 4, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. She will be offering the program at Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center, 229 East Litchfield Road.

The day will include input and discussion on the parallels between the Lenten season of the liturgical year and one’s own joys and difficulties, losses and sorrows. Participants will gain insight into how to live through all these moments of their lives and accept them as surprising gifts.

Ms Bosco has written extensively on the connection between suffering and spiritual growth. She received the 2001 Christopher Award and the 2002 Pax Christi Award. She has been a consultant to the United States Bishops on the topic of the death penalty in the US justice system.

Ms Bosco’s most recent book is Lent, An Uncommon Love Story. She is also former executive director of The Litchfield County Times.

Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center is an interfaith center presenting programs in spirituality, education, and the arts. It offers hospitality for group meetings and specializes in service to the not-for-profit community. The center is a ministry of the Daughters of Wisdom.
