Jewish Medical Ethics For End-Of-Life Patients & Families

SOUTHBURY — Brownstein Jewish Family Service and VITAS Hospice will present a talk by Barry M. Kinzbrunner, MD, on “Jewish Medical Ethics for Patients Near the End of Life and Their Families.” This free program is open to the public and takes place Thursday, February 22, at 2 pm, at the Walzer Family Jewish Community Campus, 444 Main Street North.

Dr Kinzbrunner, MD, FACP, is the co-author of The Jewish Hospice Manual. He is senior vice president and chief medical officer for VITAS Innovative Hospice Care. He has invested most of his professional career as an oncologist in the welfare of the terminally ill and is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology as well as hospice and palliative medicine.

Dr Kinzbrunner served on the Agency for Healthcare Policy and Research review panel for the development of guidelines for the management of cancer pain.
