Chase Collegiate Senior Earns State’s Only Perfect ACT Score

WATERBURY — Katherine Garner, daughter of Drs Leslie Scoutt and Joseph Garner of Cheshire, was the only Connecticut student and one of 75 in the country to achieve a 36, the highest possible score, on the October 2006 national test administration of the ACT. Approximately 3,000 Connecticut students, and 475,000 nationwide, completed the ACT college-entrance exam last fall.

The ACT consists of tests in English, mathematics, reading, and science. Each test is scored on a scale of 1–36, and a student’s composite score is the average of the four test scores.
