Works by Karen Pinto, Ros Liljengren and Roberta Ahuja are the focus of an exhibition of work on view at C.H. Booth Library.

Located in the showcase near the elevator on the library's first floor, the exhibit is a collaboration between the library and Newtown Cultural Arts Commission. It will remain be on display through March 16.

The exhibit includes a pictorial step-by-step tutorial in "How to make a Bowl."

All three Newtown residents are members of Connecticut Clay Artists, an organization of professional clay artists who join together for creative, intellectual, and supportive work, and to exhibit their work collectively. They are also three of the four potters known as the popular Clay Date Potters at HealingNewtown.

Ms Liljengren has taught in the Stamford Public Schools, at Stamford Nature Center, and currently teaches in Westport. Her current work has been inspired by nature.

Ms Pinto has been concentrating her work on sea life inspired by a trip to a nature sanctuary.

Ms Pinto and Ms Liljengren earned their degrees in pottery at Southern Connecticut State University.

A native of Brazil, Ms Ahuja is a self-taught potter. She throws pots and then paints them, establishing her interest in the decorative arts. Her range of work is extensive, from Mallorca to terra cotta.

All works on view at the library are available for purchase.

The collection can be viewed any time the library, at 25 Main Street, is open: Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am to 8 pm; Friday, 11 am to 5 pm; Saturday, 9:30 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, noon to 5 pm.
