Wooster School Education Speaker Series: ‘Creating A Climate For Learning’

DANBURY — Wooster School will launch a new speaker series, “Focus on Ethical Education,” featuring Jonathan Cohen, PhD, as its first speaker. The new series will expand the school’s message of ethical education and share this knowledge with the larger community.

Dr Cohen will address “Creating A Climate For Learning” on Thursday, February 21. The program will be in the Middle School Common Room on the Wooster School campus, at 91 Miry Brook Road. The evening will start with a reception at 7 pm, to be followed by the program at 7:30 pm and includes a question and answer session.

A well-known educator, clinician, and author, Dr Cohen is also president of the Center for Social and Emotional Education. A practicing clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst, Dr Cohen is an adjunct professor at Teachers College, Columbia University, and the School of Professional Studies, City University of New York.

He has worked in and with K–12 schools for more than 30 years. Dr Cohen is widely published and his work was most recently cited in The New York Times Sunday magazine’s cover story on “What Makes Us Want to Be Good,” January 13, 2008.
