The following dogs and cats are available for adoption from the Newtown pound, which is located at the end of Ethan Allen Road (behind the transfer station):

 

MIDNIGHT is a female lab mix who is ready and willing to please a couple or single person in a quiet home with loving companionship, provide loyality and company for a cat as well. She could easily be the perfect dog in your quietly soothing home.

CHARLOTTE is a 4-year-old female Hokkaido-terrier mix. She has a sweet personality and is friendly with both other dogs and people. JAKE is a 1½-year-old black lab mix who is friendly and very energetic. He is not good with other dogs or cats and needs some obedience training.

SARAH is a gentle and sweet boxer who gets along well with other dogs and is housebroken.

SASSY is a tiger gray cat, spayed, sweet, 2 years old, and friendly.

TIMMY is a 4-year-old mixed breed dog who has a very sweet personality. He is not good with cats.

 

There are four new cats up for adoption:

 

ANDY is a black/white 6-year-old neutered male. Andy’s shyness will disappear in a hearbeat as he discovers his new friends for life.

JESSIE has magical green eyes and is a handsome 5-year-old nuetered male cat.

TERESA is year-old female black/white. Teresa will spends time on shoulers and laps and loves her companionship. REBECCA is a 4-year-old black and white spayed female cat who dreams of her new owners from her basket and purrs and cuddles.

 

If you wish to adopt any of these animals, call Newtown Animal Control at 426-6900 or Canine Advocates at 426-5327. All dogs have had their shots and are spayed or neutered. They also receive one month free pet insurance from PetFinder.com.

 

Good news: English setters Pete and Rudy, along with Joey, a  pit bull Joey and Sassy, a tiger gray cat, have all been adopte within the past week.
