Searching For Family At Next Genealogy Club Meeting
Allan Warnecke, the historian for Putnam County, will present âThe Search for the Warnecke Familyâ for the Genealogy Club of Newtown on Wednesday, February 13, at 7 pm, at C.H. Booth Library.
Mr Warneckeâs German great-great grandfather moved his family from New Jersey to Sandy Hook where he worked in the rubber factory. Mr Warneckeâs presentation will include getting started, setting goals, how he used some novel approaches, and his unique finds. He will also discuss the final products of his family research, and how he shared it with family members.
Allan Warnecke retired from IBM in 1989 after working as a research chemist in photochemistry. He then taught part-time at Mahopac High School until 1999, Â served as historian for the Town of Carmel until 2002, and he is currently the Putnam County historian.
The Genealogy Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month through June. Refreshments are provided. Visitors and new members are always welcome. Call 426-1840 for additional information.
