Heart Health Fair At St Vincent’s

BRIDGEPORT — St Vincent’s Medical Center will hold its 2nd Annual Heart Health Fair on Wednesday, February 13, from 7 am to 4 pm in the main lobby. The event, in celebration of St Vincent’s being named #1 in the state for cardiac surgery and for heart attack survival rates, is open to the public at no cost. The fair offers free lectures, free health screenings, information, free parking, giveaways, and raffles.

Hosted by St Vincent’s Regional Heart & Vascular Center, the fair will also feature 12 booths, and aims to spread awareness of cardiovascular disease risk factors, prevention and treatment options, and overall health and wellness strategies.

Attendees will be able to watch demonstrations of a 64-slice cardiac CT scan at the Interventional Radiology booth; there will be echocardiogram demonstrations at the Noninvasive Cardiology booth.

The Cardiovascular Wellness booth will offer body fat analysis and blood pressure screenings free of charge, HDL cholesterol screenings for a $15 materials charge, and a fasting-required lipid panel for a $20 materials charge. At the Sleep Center booth, participants will participate in a free sleep awareness screening.

At the Women’s Health booth, visitors will experience what a breast lump feels like on the breast cancer model.

Additional booths presenting at the fair are Heart Healthy Eating; Regina L. Cozza Women at Heart program; Healthy Hearts Club; Cardiac Rehabilitation/CHF Clinic; Stroke Prevention; Bariatric (weight loss) Surgery Center; and Smoke Stoppers.
