Lindsay Chimileski of Sandy Hook has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2007 semester of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Connecticut. Lindsay is a 2005 graduate of Newtown High School.

Nicole Cunningham, a freshman in the A.J. Palumbo School of Business Administration at Duquesne University, has been named to the fall 2007 Dean’s List. Nicole is the daughter of Tim and Linda Cunningham of Sandy Hook.

Notre Dame Catholic High School in Fairfield announced that Omari Miles of Newtown has attained high honors for the second marking period of the school year. Chevon Miles, also of Newtown, has been named to the school’s honor roll.

Newtown High School senior Kevin McManus has been promised a $1,000 scholarship by Lynchburg College. Kevin earned the award through a written and verbal exam as part of the college’s Seventh Annual Scholarship Competition. He has been accepted into the college but has not decided whether he will attend the Lynchburg, Va.-based school. Kevin is the son of Tracey and Paul McManus of Newtown.

Karla M. Spencer, daughter of Darlene and Andy Spencer of Newtown, has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. Karle is studying for a bachelor of science degree with a major in education and a concentration in pre-elementary education (K-6).

The fall semester’s Dean’s Lean from Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I., includes the following Newtown residents: Thomas R. Wilson, a sophomore in management; Matthew J. Meehan, a sophomore in international business; Mark D. Laslo, a junior in communication; and Heidi M. Ekstrom, a senior in finance.

Bryant’s Dean’s List also includes the following Sandy Hook residents: Joseph R. Brewer, a sophomore in marketing; Gregory B. Golino, a junior in finance; and Lauren E. Nemeth, a junior in international business in management.
