Occupation: I am a computer scientist with Sirocco Systems in Wallingford. I have a bachelor’s of arts degree in mathematics from Cornell University.

How Long in Newtown: I have lived in Newtown for 27 years. Prior, I lived in New Milford for about a year. I grew up on Long Island.

Biggest Change Seen in Town: When we moved here, the first selectman was Jack Rosenthal; now the first selectman is Herb Rosenthal.

 Family: My wife, Laura, and I have been married for 28 years. We have two children, Samantha, 25, who is a nursing student in Boston, and Alexander, 22, a senior at the University of Connecticut majoring in computer sicence and engineering. Samantha is being married in October.

Pets: We have a cat named Amelia, from Colorado.

Hobbies: I have a second degree black belt in jujitsu. I am an EMT with Newtown Volunteer Ambulance. Last year I answered 400 calls out of a total of 1,506. I also do some carpentry and metalwork. I also enjoy computers and photography.

Favorite Books and Authors: There’s not enough time to read. My favorite book is Old Man and the Sea. Lately I read science fiction.

Favorite TV Show: I don’t watch much TV.

Organizations: I am secretary/treasurer of Newtown Volunteer Ambulance. I’m also a member of the Amateur Relay Radio League, the Danbury Area Computer League, IEEE, and KDR Fraternity.

Most Vivid Memory of Newtown: My memory is a recent one of driving down Shepard Hill Road in the ambulance after it had snowed. It was absolutely beautiful.

Favorite Vacation Spot: Our favorite place is Otis, Mass. We have a summer place there. We sit by the pond.

Personal Philosophy: “To thine own self be true, and it doth follow as the night the day thou canst then be false to any man.”
