Food Inspection
To the Editor:
I appreciate your response to my letter of November 15, 1999, in which I requested that you publish results of local food handling establishment inspections. The story published in The Bee issue of December 3 was interesting; however, it could have included information on names, qualifications and training of the people who do these inspections. Also, people may question why last inspection dates listed for several restaurants were late in 1998 and early 1999, although it was stated that three or four inspections a year are required for those facilities.
I hope The Bee will publish inspection reports weekly, or at least monthly, preferably in a form similar to reports in The Danbury News-Times, listing defects noted, as well as scores. This would be of interest to your readers, and also helpful in ensuring compliance with proper food handling practices.
Yours truly,
