IRS Expands Walk-In Hours

HARTFORD — Taxpayers can now get help at IRS walk-in offices after work and on Saturdays.

IRS offices are now open until 6:30 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays in Hartford and on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Danbury, Bridgeport, New Haven, Norwalk, Norwich and Waterbury. The offices in New Haven and Hartford are also open on Saturdays from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm.

The expanded hours are until April 18. They are in addition to the offices’ regular weekday hours from 8 am until 4:30 pm. Taxpayers can come into the offices to get tax forms, answers to tax questions and tax return assistance. Help is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Danbury office is located at 131 West Street.

Taxpayers can also get quick and easy access to tax information from the IRS Internet Web Site at www.irs.gov.
