Garner Assault Investigation
State police are investigating an incident at Garner Correctional Institution in which an inmate allegedly threw a container of urine at a correction officer January 31.
State police said inmate Darrell Trapp, 31, whose last known address was in Hartford, threw a carton containing a substance suspected of being human urine at Correction Officer Howard Burritt about 11:30 am.
State police said they obtained Burrittâs correction officer uniform as evidence and are forwarding it the state police crime lab for scientific analysis to determine whether the substance was urine.
If it is found the liquid was urine, state police plan to file an arrest warrant application against Trapp on a charge of assault on a correction officer.
Garner is the stateâs high security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road designed to house more than 700 inmates. It opened in November 1992.
