Carl C. Anderson

Carl C. Anderson, 79, husband of the late Anne (Mooney) Anderson, of Nunnawauk Meadows, Newtown and formerly of Great Quarter Road, Sandy Hook, died February 5 in Danbury Hospital.

Mr Anderson was born in Milford July 19, 1920, a son of the late Carl and Caroline (Bahner) Anderson. He was a resident of Newtown for the past 40 years. He was employed as a carpenter by Union Local #210 of the Carpenter’s Union until his retirement. Mr Anderson was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army.  He was a member of Post #308 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. Mr Anderson was a member of the Newtown Senior Center.

Mr. Anderson is survived by a son, Kevin Anderson of New Milford; five grandchildren, including Scott Lee of Newtown and Kevin Anderson, Jr, Kristen Anderson, Carl R. Anderson and Derek Anderson; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Dorothy Anderson of Shelton.  He was pre-deceased by a son, Richard Anderson, and a daughter, Carol Lee.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated February 9 in St Jude Church, Monroe.  Interment was in St Peter Cemetery, Derby.

The Honan Funeral Home, 48 Main Street, Newtown, was in charge of arrangements.
