AAUW Scholarships
Are Now Available
Barbara Basbagill, scholarship chair for the Bridgeport Area American Association of University Women (AAUW), announces that scholarships for graduate and undergraduate students from Bridgeport, Fairfield, Stratford, Monroe, Easton, Shelton, Trumbull and Newtown are again available this year.
The AAUW, Ms Basbagill notes, has among its many programs extensive international, national, and local scholarship help for education. In the Bridgeport area, the AAUW has funded local scholarships for many years. Last year, three area students were awarded scholarships totaling $5,000.Â
Students must come from the area towns noted above, but need not be attending college in Connecticut. Applicants must have already completed one year of college or 32 credits.
The deadline for receiving applications is March 15. To get an application, send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Barbara Basbagill, 103 Haviland Drive, Trumbull, CT 06611.
